Ectomyelois Heinrich, 1956 in China, with descriptions of two new species and a key (Lepidoptera, Pyralidae, Phycitinae).

ABSTRACT: Only three species belonging to the genus Ectomyelois Heinrich, 1956 are recorded from China, of which two species, Ectomyelois bipectinalis sp. n. and Ectomyelois furvivena sp. n. are described as new. We discuss the status of Ectomyelois that has been treated as a junior synonym by previous authors; we treat it as a valid genus, revised status, based on characters of the venation and female genitalia. Photographs of the adults and illustrations of the genitalia are given, along with a key to the three known Chinese species.

The genus Arcanusa Wang, Chen & Wu, gen. n. is established for Ar. apexiarcanusa Wang, Chen & Wu, sp. n. and Ar. sinuosa (Moore, 1888), comb. n., described in Scopocera Moore, 1888 (junior synonym of Stericta Lederer, 1863). The female genitalia of Ar. sinuosa (Moore, 1888), comb. n. are described for the first time. Androconia Wang, Chen & Wu, gen. n. is erected, including two new species, An. rallusa Wang, Chen & Wu, sp. n. and An. morulusa Wang, Chen & Wu, sp. n. Photographs of adults, wing venation, and both male and female genitalia are provided, along with a key for the identification of all the Chinese species.

Project description:Ten species of the genus Lista are recognized from China. Among them, five species are described as new to science, namely, Lista angustusasp. n., Lista gilvasasp. n., Lista longifundamenasp. n., Lista menghaiensissp. n., and Lista sichuanensissp. n. Diagnoses are provided for the genus and five previously described species, Lista haraldusalis (Walker, 1859), Lista insulsalis (Lederer, 1863), Lista ficki (Christoph, 1881), Lista plinthochroa (West, 1931), and Lista variegata (Moore, 1888), that occur in China. Two species, Lista plinthochroa and Lista variegata, are reported from China for the first time. All adults and their genital structures are illustrated. A key to the Chinese species is provided.

Project description:Pima tristriata sp. nov. is described as new to science based on specimens collected from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, and P. boisduvaliella (Guenée, 1845) is also treated here for comparison. DNA barcodes of the two species are provided, together with a neighbor-joining tree for species delimitation. A key to the Holarctic species and a distribution map of the Chinese species are presented.

Project description:Two new species belonging to the genus Glaucocharis Meyrick, 1938 are described from southwest China: Glaucocharissperlingi sp. n. and G.nussi sp. n. The female of G.castaneus Song & Chen, 2002 is described for the first time. The geographical distribution of the genus in China is analysed. The precipitation of the warmest quarter is revealed to be the strongest predictor affecting the present distribution pattern of the genus. A map showing the distribution of the known Chinese localities of Glaucocharis is provided.

Project description:Species of the genus Syntozyga Lower, 1901 (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae, Olethreutinae) from China are studied. Syntozyga apicispinata sp. nov. and S. similispirographa sp. nov. are described, S. pedias (Meyrick, 1920) is recorded for the first time from China, and S. spirographa (Diakonoff, 1968) is newly recorded from the Chinese mainland. Adults and genitalia are illustrated, and a distribution map of the Chinese species is given. Keys to identify the Chinese species of Syntozyga are provided. Species of the genus are well clustered in a neighbor-joining tree based on the sequence data of the COI gene. COI sequences corresponding to the new species and S. spirographa (Diakonoff, 1968) are submitted to BOLD.
