Complete Genome Sequence of an NADC30-Like Strain of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus in China.

ABSTRACT: The most recently emergent porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus strains in China are characterized by 393 nucleotide deletions in the nonstructural protein 2 (NSP2) region and are known as NADC30-like strains. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the NADC30-like HNjz15 strain that was isolated in 2015.

NADC30-Like Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome in China.

Project description:NADC30-like porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) has widely spread in China and become locally dominant virus strain in some provinces. Although they are not pathogenic as highly pathogenic PRRSV (HP-RRRSV) that outbreaks since 2006, NADC30-like PRRSVs distinguished themselves by high incidence of recombination with other virus strains which lead to change of virulence. The outbreaks of NADC30-like PRRSV in the vaccinated pig herds suggested that current commercial PRRSV vaccines cannot provide complete protection to the infection. In this review, we have described in detail the current situation of NADC30 PRRSV including epidemiology, genomic characterization, pathogenicity, and efficacy of current commercial vaccines in China.

The complete genome sequence shows that NM1 shares high sequence identity (99.2 to 99.4%) to other HP-PRRSV isolates, containing two discontinuous deletions, a 1-amino-acid deletion at position 481 and a 29-amino-acid deletion at positions 533 to 651, in nonstructural protein 2.

Project description:QY2010 is a highly pathogenic North American-type porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV). The complete genome sequence shows that QY2010 shares low sequence identity (60 to 88.7%) to all known PRRSV isolates. Phylogenetic analyses further reveal that QY2010 constitutes a novel subgroup within the North American genotype of PRRSV.

Here we report the complete genomic sequence of a novel PRRSV variant with 174 amino acid deletions in the nonstructural protein 2 (nsp2) gene.
