Genome sequence and description of Desnuesiella massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov. a new member of family Clostridiaceae.

ABSTRACT: Desnuesiella massiliensis, strain MT10(T) gen. nov., sp. nov. is a newly proposed genus within the family Clostridiaceae, isolated from the digestive microbiota of a child suffering from kwashiorkor. Desnuesiella massiliensis is a facultatively anaerobic, Gram-positive rod. Here we describe the features of this organism, together with the complete genome sequence and annotation. The 5 503 196-bp long genome (one chromosome but no plasmid) contains 5227 protein-coding and 81 RNA genes, including 14 rRNA genes.

Project description:The family Rickettsiaceae currently includes two genera: Orientia that contains one species, Orientia tsutsugamushi, and Rickettsia that contains 28 species. Occidentia massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov. strain OS118(T) is the type strain of O. massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov., the type species of the new genus Occidentia gen. nov. within the family Rickettsiaceae. This strain, whose genome is described here, was isolated in France from the soft tick Ornithodoros sonrai collected in Senegal. O. massiliensis is an aerobic, rod-shaped, Gram-negative, obligate intracellular bacillus that may be cultivated in BME/CTVM2 cells. Here we describe the features of O. massiliensis, together with the complete genomic sequencing and annotation. Project description:Strain Marseille-P2645T was isolated in a colon sample from a Frenchwoman who underwent a colonoscopy. Bacterial cells were Gram negative, non-spore forming, mobile and strictly anaerobic. The genome of strain Marseille-P2645T is 3 950 441 bp long and contains 3374 protein-coding genes. The DNA G+C content is of 51.66 mol%. Strain Marseille-P2645T exhibited a 92.9% sequence similarity with Bacteroides helcogenes strain P36-108T (GenBank accession no. CP002352), the phylogenetically closest species with standing in nomenclature. Strain Marseille-P2645T (= CSUR P2645 = DSM 103034) is therefore a candidate as a type species of a new genus belonging to the Bacteroidaceae family, for which the name of Mediterranea massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov., is proposed.

Here we describe the features and complete genome sequence of Gabonia massiliensis strain GM3, an anaerobic Gram negative, non-spore-forming and catalase-positive bacillus isolated from a stool specimen of a healthy Gabonese male youth. Project description:Timonella senegalensis strain JC301(T) gen. nov., sp. nov. is the type strain of T. senegalensis gen. nov., sp. nov., a new species within the newly proposed genus Timonella. This bacterial strain was isolated from the fecal flora of a healthy Senegalese patient. In this report, we detail the features of this organism, together with the complete genome sequence and annotation. Timonella senegalensis strain JC301(T) exhibits the highest 16S rRNA similarity (95%) with Sanguibacter marinus, the closest validly published bacterial species. The genome of T. senegalensis strain JC301(T) is 3,010,102-bp long, with one chromosome and no plasmid. The genome contains 2,721 protein-coding genes and 72 RNA genes, including 5 rRNA genes. The genomic annotation revealed that T. senegalensis strain JC301(T) possesses the complete complement of enzymes necessary for the de novo biosynthesis of amino acids and vitamins (except for riboflavin and biotin), as well as the enzymes involved in the metabolism of various carbon sources, chaperone genes, and genes involved in the regulation of polyphosphate and glycogen levels.
