Cardiac fibroblasts support heart function, and aberrant fibroblast signaling can lead to fibrosis and cardiac dysfunction. Yet how signaling molecules drive myofibroblast differentiation and fibrosis in the complex signaling environment of cardiac injury remains unclear.
