ABSTRACT: Five new species of the genus Ischnothyreus are reported from Singapore: Ischnothyreus an Tong & Li, sp. n., Ischnothyreus brunneus Tong & Li, sp. n., Ischnothyreus dactylinus Tong & Li, sp. n., Ischnothyreus poculum Tong & Li, sp. n. and Ischnothyreus tectorius Tong & Li, sp. n. Morphological descriptions and illustrations are given for all new species.

Project description:Seven new species of the genus Ischnothyreus Simon, 1893 from the spider family Oonopidae Simon, 1890 are reported from Myanmar: I. hponkanrazi sp. nov. (♀), I. jianglangi sp. nov. (♀), I. meukyawwa sp. nov. (♂♀), I. putao sp. nov. (♀), I. qiuxing sp. nov. (♀), I. taunggyi sp. nov. (♂♀) and I. zhigangi sp. nov. (♂♀). Morphological descriptions and photographic illustrations of the new species are given. All types are preserved in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS).

(female), and I.pomesp. nov. (male and female). Males of Ischnothyreuslinzhiensis Hu, 2001 are discovered for the first time since its description. Descriptions, diagnoses, and photographs of the four species are provided.

Revision of the ant-eating spider genus Mallinus Simon, 1893 (Araneae, Zodariidae).

Project description:The zodariine spider genus Mallinus Simon, 1893 is redescribed and diagnosed. The type species, M.nitidiventris Simon, 1893 from South Africa, was originally described from subadult specimens. Adults of both sexes of M.nitidiventris are described for the first time, based on recently collected material, and the genus is rediagnosed, redescribed, and its relationships discussed. A single aberrant male specimen from Namibia is here described as a morphospecies, as it is presumed to only be superficially related. A second species, M.defectus Strand, 1906 from Tunisia, is considered a 'species inquirenda', as the type specimens could not be traced, but this species is in any case unlikely to be congeneric. The genus is one of 10 cases of a monotypic genus in the Zodariidae. Notes are provided on the biology of M.nitidiventris.

Two new species of the ant genus Acanthomyrmex Emery, 1893 (Hymenoptera, Formicidae, Myrmicinae) from Thailand.

Project description:Acanthomyrmex Emery, 1893 is a small myrmicine genus of the tribe Crematogastrini. Seventeen species of the genus have been recorded from Southeast Asia. Herein, two new species from Thailand (Acanthomyrmexmalikuli sp. n. and Acanthomyrmexmizunoi sp. n.) are added to this genus. Both species belong to Acanthomyrmexluciolae species group. Acanthomyrmexmalikuli was collected from hard dead wood on forest floor, while A.mizunoi nested in soil.
