The concentration of secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG) found in flaxseed (<i>Linum usitatissimum</i> L.) is higher than that found in any other plant. It exists in flaxseed coats as an SDG-3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaric acid oligomer complex.
