ABSTRACT: The Thermoactinomyces sp. strain Gus2-1 was isolated from hot-spring sediments sample from the hot-spring Gusikha in Bargusin Valley (Baikal Rift Zone, Russia). The sequenced and annotated genome is 2,623,309 bp and encodes 2513 genes. The draft genome sequence of the Thermoactinomyces sp. strain Gus2-1 has been deposited at DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank under the accession JPZM01000000 and the sequences could be found at the site https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/JPZM01000000.

Project description:The draft genome sequence of Caldanaerobacter sp. strain 1523vc, a thermophilic bacterium, isolated from a hot spring of Uzon Caldera, (Kamchatka, Russia) is presented. The complete genome assembly was of 2 713 207 bp with predicted completeness of 99.38%. Genome structural annotation revealed 2674 protein-coding genes, 127 pseudogenes and 77 RNA genes. Pangenome analysis of 7 currently available high quality Caldanaerobacter spp. genomes including 1523vc revealed 4673 gene clusters. Of them, 1130 clusters formed a core genome of genus Caldanaerobacter. Of the rest 3543 Caldanaerobacter pangenome genes, 385 were exclusively represented in 1523vc genome. 101 of 2801 Caldanaerobacter CDS were found to be encoding carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes). The majority of CAZymes were predicted to be involved in degradation of beta-linked polysaccharides as chitin, cellulose and hemicelluloses, reflecting the metabolism of strain 1523vc, isolated on cellulose. 5 of 101 CAZyme genes were found to be unique for the strain 1523vc and belonged to GH23, GT56, GH15 and two CE9 family proteins. The draft genome of strain 1523vc was deposited at DBJ/EMBL/GenBank under the accessions JABEQB000000000, PRJNA629090 and SAMN14766777 for Genome, Bioproject and Biosample, respectively.

Draft genome sequence of Thermoactinomyces sp. strain AS95 isolated from a Sebkha in Thamelaht, Algeria.

Project description:The members of the genus Thermoactinomyces are known for their protein degradative capacities. Thermoactinomyces sp. strain AS95 is a Gram-positive filamentous bacterium, isolated from moderately saline water in the Thamelaht region of Algeria. This isolate is a thermophilic aerobic bacterium with the capacity to produce extracellular proteolytic enzymes. This strain exhibits up to 99 % similarity with members of the genus Thermoactinomyces, based on 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity. Here we report on the phenotypic features of Thermoactinomyces sp. strain AS95 together with the draft genome sequence and its annotation. The genome of this strain is 2,558,690 bp in length (one chromosome, but no plasmid) with an average G + C content of 47.95 %, and contains 2550 protein-coding and 60 RNA genes together with 64 ORFs annotated as proteases.
