Seed contamination with polyketide mycotoxins such as sterigmatocystin (ST) produced by <i>Aspergilli</i> is a worldwide issue. The ST biosynthetic pathway is well-characterized in <i>A. nidulans</i>, but regulatory aspects related to the carbon source are still enigmatic.
