<h4>Background</h4>Choline-binding proteins (CBPs) are a group of surface-exposed proteins, which play crucial and physiological roles in <i>Streptococcus pneumoniae</i>. The novel member of CBPs, choline-binding protein M (CbpM) may have binding activity to plasma proteins.
