Based on phylogenetic and morphological evidence, <i>Tridimeris chiapensis</i> Escobar-Castellanos & Ortiz-Rodr., <b>sp</b>. <b>n.</b> (Annonaceae), a new species from the karst forest of southern Mexico, is described and illustrated.
