Using time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET), we have developed and validated the first high-throughput screening (HTS) method to discover compounds that modulate an intracellular Ca<sup>2+</sup> channel, the ryanodine receptor (RyR), for therapeutic applications.
