Propofol is an intravenous anesthetic that produces its anesthetic effect, largely <i>via</i> the GABA<sub>A</sub> receptor in the CNS, and also reduces the <i>N</i>-formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP)-induced neutrophil respiratory burst.
