<i>Escherichia coli</i> strain USML2 was originally isolated from the inner leaf tissues of surface-sterilized phytopathogenic-free oil palm (<i>Elaeis guineensis</i> Jacq.). We present here the whole-genome sequence of this plant-endophytic strain.
