First Complete Genome Sequence of a French Bovine coronavirus Strain.

ABSTRACT: We sequenced the first Bovine coronavirus (BCoV) complete genome sequence from France. This BCoV was directly sequenced from a fecal sample collected from a calf in Normandy in 2014.

Project description:We present the full genome sequence of a colistin-resistant Raoultella electrica strain (MIC, >4 μg/mL) that was isolated from the stool of a healthy person living in India. The sequence consists of a chromosome and three plasmids (5,455,992-bp and 98,913-bp, 4,232-bp, and 3,961-bp, respectively). No previously described colistin resistance mechanisms were detected.

The nucleotide identity with feline coronavirus was 91.5%. The present study reports the first complete genome sequence of a feline coronavirus from Brazil.

Studies indicate that BVDV GX4 belongs to the BVDV-1b subtype. This report will help in understanding the epidemiology and molecular characteristics of BVDV in southern China cattle.
