Costic acid has been isolated from the plant <i>Dittrichia viscosa</i> and its efficacy against <i>Varroa destructor</i>, a parasite of <i>Apis mellifera</i>, the European honey bee, has been studied. Costic acid exhibited potent in vivo acaricidal activity against the parasite.
