Inactivation of the small guanosine triphosphate-binding protein Ras during receptor signal transduction is mediated by Ras guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase)-activating proteins (RasGAPs). Ten different RasGAPs have been identified and have overlapping patterns of tissue distribution.
