Genome Sequences of New Faustovirus Strains ST1 and LC9, Isolated from the South of France.

ABSTRACT: Faustoviruses are amoeba-infecting giant viruses closely related to the Asfarviridae family. Here, we report the isolation, genome sequencing, and annotation of ST1 and LC9, two new strains belonging to lineages L and E9 of faustoviruses, currently represented by only one representative each.

Their genomes ranged from 2.157 to 2.265 Mbp, with a G+C content of 39.6% to 39.7%. The sequence types, antimicrobial resistance genes, and S. canis M-like protein alleles were characterized.

Project description:We report here the draft genome sequences of two novel strains of Streptomyces (NWU339 and NWU49) isolated from South African rhizosphere soils. Both strains were found to possess strong cellulolytic activity and contain numerous putative cellulase genes. Both genomes possess benzoate degradation pathways, while NWU49 contains the genomic potential for enediyne biosynthesis.

The complete genome sequences of two strains indicated that these viruses were distinct from viruses of genotype VII. Project description:Two porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) strains, named DH1/2016 and DH2/2016, were isolated from feces of piglets which had severe watery diarrhea symptoms. A comparison of the complete genome sequences suggested that the DH1/2016 and DH2/2016 strains are highly homologous to each other and to PDCoVs isolated in early 2014 from the United States.

Project description:Classical swine fever is a disease that is devastating the pig industry worldwide. Here, we report the complete genome sequences of two classical swine virus strains (YC11WB and PC11WB), isolated from Korean wild boars in 2011. Both strains belong to subgenotype 2.1b. The complete genome sequences of PC11WB and YC11WB are more similar to that of strain ZJ0801 (isolated in China) than to that of the SW03 strain isolated from domestic pigs in South Korea.
