<i>Palaeospondylus gunni</i> Traquair, 1890 is an enigmatic Devonian vertebrate whose taxonomic affinities have been debated since it was first described. Most recently, <i>Palaeospondylus</i> has been identified as a stem-group hagfish (Myxinoidea).
