The effect of elevated atmospheric CO<sub>2</sub> concentration [CO<sub>2</sub> ] on the diversity and composition of the prokaryotic community inhabiting the rhizosphere of winter barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) was investigated in a field experiment, using open-top chambers.
