<h4>Premise of the study</h4><i>Broussonetia papyrifera</i> (Moraceae) is native to Asia and is used as a medicinal plant and as a source of fiber for making paper. It was dispersed into the Pacific region as a fiber source for making nonwoven textiles (barkcloth).
