We describe our efforts to improve the pharmacokinetic properties of a mechanism-based suicide inhibitor of the polyamine biosynthetic enzyme S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase (AdoMetDC), essential for the survival of the eukaryotic parasite Trypanosoma brucei responsible for Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT).
