The ubiquitously expressed tyrosine phosphatase Src homology region 2 domain-containing phosphatase-2 (SHP-2, encoded by <i>Ptpn11</i>) is required for constitutive cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, and the regulation of immune responses.
