The hawksbill sea turtle, <i>Eretmochelys imbricata,</i> is an endangered species of the Caribbean Colombian coast due to anthropic and natural factors that have decreased their population levels. Little is known about the genes that are involved in their immune system, sex determination, aging and others important functions.
