Certain probiotic species of lactic acid bacteria, especially Lactobacillus plantarum, regulate bacteriocin synthesis through quorum sensing (QS) systems. In this study, we aimed to investigate the luxS-mediated molecular mechanisms of QS during bacteriocin synthesis by L. plantarum KLDS1.0391.
