Varicella zoster virus (VZV) disease (usually cutaneous zoster) occurs frequently after hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT), and postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) results in poor quality of life. The optimal prophylaxis of VZV disease/PHN has not been established.
