Enterotoxigenic <i>Escherichia coli</i> (ETEC) causes diarrhea in pigs, referred to as colibacillosis. The aim of this study was to optimize multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) analyses of paraffin-embedded material to detect pathogenic <i>E. coli</i> strains causing colibacillosis in pigs.
