<i>Xylopsora canopeorum</i> Timdal, Reese Næsborg & Bendiksby is described as a new species occupying the crowns of large <i>Sequoia sempervirens</i> trees in California, USA. The new species is supported by morphology, anatomy, secondary chemistry and DNA sequence data.
