We describe a case of polymicrobial bacterial pericarditis with <i>Klebsiella pneumoniae</i> and <i>Proteus mirabilis</i>, caused by pericardial penetration of the tip of the catheter of a laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (LAGB). The patient developed a cardiac tamponade, and subsequently emergency pericardiocentesis was performed.
