Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder. Accumulating evidences suggest that PD might have a strong neurodevelopmental component. Among the genetic cases, mutations in the leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) are well known to be disease causing.
