The adenosine receptor (AR) subtypes A<sub>2A</sub> and A<sub>2B</sub> are rhodopsin-like G<sub>s</sub> protein-coupled receptors whose expression is highly regulated under pathological, e.g. hypoxic, ischemic and inflammatory conditions.
