Plant hormones ethylene and auxin synergistically regulate plant root growth and development. Ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis of Aux/IAA transcriptional repressors by the E3 ubiquitin ligase SCF<sup>TIR1/AFB</sup> triggers a transcription-based auxin signaling.
