In the present study, a new biocontrol strain, Bacillus subtilis KU-153, was isolated from the Korean traditional fermented food Kimchi and evaluated for its ability to reduce the ochratoxin A (OTA) content in culture medium. A 16 S rRNA gene sequencing analysis revealed the identity of newly isolated strain KU-153 as B. subtilis.
