A new species of the genus <i>Kurixalus</i> (Anura: Rhacophoridae) is described from western Yunnan, China. Genetically the new species, <i>Kurixalus yangi</i><b>sp. n.</b>, is closer to <i>Kurixalus naso</i> than to other known congeners.
