Protective adaptive immunity to Zika virus (ZIKV) has been mainly attributed to cytotoxic CD8<sup>+</sup> T cells and neutralizing antibodies, while the participation of CD4<sup>+</sup> T cells in resistance has remained largely uncharacterized.
