Several previous genomic studies have focused on adaptation to high elevations, but these investigations have been largely limited to endotherms. Snakes of the genus <i>Thermophis</i> are endemic to the Tibetan plateau and therefore present an opportunity to study high-elevation adaptations in ectotherms.
