Autoimmune polyendocrinopathy-candidiasis-ectodermal dystrophy (APECED) or Autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type-1 (APS-1) (APECED, OMIM 240300) is a rare, childhood onset, monogenic disease caused by mutations in the <i>Autoimmune Regulator</i> (<i>AIRE</i>) gene.
