We systematically and quantitatively evaluate whether endoplasmic reticulum (ER) proteostasis factors impact the mutational tolerance of secretory pathway proteins. We focus on influenza hemaggluttinin (HA), a viral membrane protein that folds in the host's ER via a complex pathway.
