The [<i>PSI</i>⁺] nonsense-suppressor determinant of <i>Saccharomyces cerevisiae</i> is based on the formation of heritable amyloids of the Sup35 (eRF3) translation termination factor. [<i>PSI</i>⁺] amyloids have variants differing in amyloid structure and in the strength of the suppressor phenotype.
