Transient semi-circumferential mid-ventricular ballooning: An atypical variant of takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

ABSTRACT: Although apical ballooning is the most common morphological type of takotsubo cardiomyopathy, variants have been reported. Several case reports have demonstrated focal takotsubo cardiomyopathy. Most cases had left ventricular wall motion abnormality in the anterolateral segment. We present a case of focal ventricular ballooning localized especially in the inferior mid-ventricular segment. .
