Post-transcriptional control of messenger RNA (mRNA) is an important layer of gene regulation that modulates mRNA decay, translation, and localization. Eukaryotic mRNA decay begins with the catalytic removal of the 3' poly-adenosine tail by deadenylase enzymes.
