ABSTRACT: This data article presents an important bibliometric dataset of ten Indonesian leading educational universities. These ten Indonesian leading educational universities are Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed), and Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG). Using Scopus database search analysis, this data article collects data on documents per year, subject area of documents, source title of documents, documents type, country/territory, author name and number of documents, affiliation and most cited documents for each universities.

Project description:BackgroundThere has been considerable progress in developing global health education and research in China. Nevertheless, evidence of the progress of Chinese universities' contributions to global health research is limited. More efforts are needed to depict the progress Chinese universities have collectively made in advancing the field of global health. This study aimed to examine Chinese universities' collective contributions to global health research by describing the longitudinal trends in global health research publications, uncovering research themes in global health, and exploring collaboration patterns.MethodsA comprehensive bibliometric analysis was conducted for original research studies of the ten founding members of the China Consortium of Universities for Global Health, one of the largest networks of global health research and education in China.ResultsWe found that (1) the number of research publications in the field of global health has steadily increased from 2014 to 2020, (2) non-communicable disease was the most popular research topic, accounting for over one-third of total publications, followed by maternal and child health and neurological and mental disorders and diseases, (3) less than one-fifth of papers involved primary data collection, with the majority of the study populations from low-income and lower-middle-income countries in Asia and Africa, and (4) a sizable collaboration network has been established with co-authors from over 200 oversea universities or organizations, with about one third from the US.ConclusionsDespite a variety of challenges and barriers, Chinese universities have been playing an increasingly important role in global health research as assessed by peer-reviewed publications over the last decade. More concerted efforts by multiple stakeholders, including government, private sectors, funding agencies, academic institutions, and researchers, are needed to advance the development of global health research in China.

Project description:This article presents a performance dataset of 93 Russian universities, collected from 2015 to 2018 and evaluated according to 24 indicators. These data were gathered from materials, published in the process of monitoring the effectiveness of higher education institutions by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Web of Science (citation-based research analytics tool InCites) and Scopus (citation-based research analytics tool SciVal) databases, and information from international ranking agencies QS, THE, ARWU. The dataset comprises the assessments of university performances according to the most important indicators used in socio-economic studies of comparative analysis of higher education system development levels in different countries: educational, scientific and research, international, financial and economic performance and international public recognition (university positions in leading international rankings). Evaluated universities are grouped pursuant to their missions: Federal Universities (FU), National Research Universities (NRU), Flagship Universities (FlU) and university-participants of the Russian Academic Excellence Project (Project 5-100). The indicators for the comparative analysis are aggregated by the type of activities and analyzed based on the calculation of median values and Displaced Ideal Method. The dataset can be helpful to researchers, university administration, specialists of higher education system, etc. Data processing can be executed using data mining methods, machine learning, and pattern analysis for the development of intellectual structures, applicable for university performance assessment in different educational systems. Presented data allows us to assert that the implementation of targeted support for leading Russian universities has a positive impact on the development of Russian higher education increasing its role on the international academic arena. Leading national research university-participants of the Project 5-100 had the greatest influence on increasing the competitiveness of Russian education in the world.
