While N<sup>6</sup>-methyladenosine (m<sup>6</sup>A), the most abundant internal modification in eukaryotic mRNA, is linked to cell differentiation and tissue development, the biological significance of m<sup>6</sup>A modification in mammalian glial development remains unknown.
