Lactate dehydrogenase B (LDHB) is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyses the conversion of lactate and NAD<sup>+</sup> to pyruvate, NADH and H<sup>+</sup> . Protons (H<sup>+</sup> ) generated by LDHB promote lysosomal acidification and autophagy in cancer, but how this role is regulated has not been defined.
