Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) is a rate-limiting enzyme in mammalian nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)+ biosynthesis. Through its NAD+-biosynthetic activity, NAMPT influences the activity of NAD+-dependent enzymes, such as sirtuins.
