Mitochondrial dynamics refers to the constant remodeling of mitochondrial populations by multiple cellular pathways that help maintain mitochondrial health and function. Disruptions in mitochondrial dynamics often lead to mitochondrial dysfunction, which is frequently associated with disease in rodents and humans.
