Thrombosis is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Philadelphia chromosome-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), clonal disorders of hematopoiesis characterized by activated Janus kinase (JAK)-signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) signaling.
