Widespread antimalarial drug resistance has prompted the need for new therapeutics and greater understanding of malaria parasite biology. To this end, the isoprenoid biosynthesis inhibitor fosmidomycin has been used to probe the metabolic regulation in the malaria parasite, <i>Plasmodium falciparum</i>.
