Centrins are EF-hand containing proteins ubiquitously found in eukaryotes and are key components of centrioles/basal bodies as well as certain contractile fibers. We previously identified three centrins in the human parasite <i>Toxoplasma gondii</i>, all of which localized to the centrioles.
