In this article, tannic acid (TA), as an earth-abundant natural polymer, has been creatively proposed as a desirable organic anode material for lithium ion batteries (LIBs). Most importantly, it has been observed that the substitution of different concentrations of lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) for lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF<sub>6</sub>) can significantly restrain the dissolution of TA.
