In the title compound, C<sub>20</sub>H<sub>18</sub>NO<sub>3</sub>P, the C=O and P=O groups of the carbacyl-amido-phosphate (CAPh) fragments are located in a synclinal position relative to each other and are pre-organized for bidentate chelate coordination of metal ions. The N-H group is involved in the formation of an intra-molecular hydrogen bond.
